Loving Lupita: Day 11

Image
"Corrective Lenses" created on Polyvore.com by MeriMagic What if Mary had possessed a pair of magical glasses that allowed her to see the future --- every detail of the life that followed saying yes when the angel announced that she was the chosen vessel? Knowing her fledgling family would have to flee to Egypt, that her first-born would be set apart from others  and possessed of an other-worldliness and preturnatural gifts, that he would ultimately be hung by the Romans alongside common thieves. . . . would her answer have been different? Can we escape our destiny? If we choose to deviate from the path that appears to be ours, is the final destination the one at which we were meant to arrive? Just wondering. Loving Lupita

Loving Lupita: Adorned

Protestants largely ignore her, except during the Christmas season. . . . after all, Jesus had a mortal birth and a mother who gestated him. There's a nod at Easter to the mother who sat at the foot of the cross and anointed her son's body in the tomb in ancient burial rites. How left out she must feel the rest of the year.
