It always makes me sad when I find
old photographs lying in a bin
in antique stores.

I wonder if sometimes the family died out. At least the branch with the photographs. Sometimes people just toss out everything left. I don't understand it but that's why I have so much stuff around.

Everyone always looks so severe. I'd love to see them the moment after the photograph is taken, when they probably smile with relief!

I too can never resist old photographs. They always say to me, take me home and show me to the world. And that is exactly what you have done. If only the subjects of the photographs could realise that people all over the world would be looking at their images 150 years later.

Old photographs should be loved and proudly displayed or at least looked at and wondered, who were you, why is nobody looking out for you, remembering you? There is so much history attached to old photos of. I am hopelessly sentimental when it comes to old photographs.
