Loving Lupita: Day 11

"Corrective Lenses" created on Polyvore.com by MeriMagic

What if Mary had possessed a pair of magical glasses
that allowed her to see the future ---
every detail of the life that followed saying yes
when the angel announced that she was the chosen vessel?

Knowing her fledgling family would have to flee to Egypt,
that her first-born would be set apart from others
and possessed of an other-worldliness and preturnatural gifts,
that he would ultimately be hung by the Romans
alongside common thieves. . . .
would her answer have been different?

Can we escape our destiny?
If we choose to deviate from the path that appears to be ours,
is the final destination the one at which we were meant to arrive?

Just wondering.

Can we escape our destiny? Do we have a destiny? Are we locked into one pathway, no matter what? So many questions! So few answers!

This is interesting. I never thought of Mary with glasses, magic or otherwise. I believe in destiny.

If we have a destiny, where is our free will?

I have no idea why, but your whimsical creations always bring a big smile to my face. I'm going to go find this on Polyvore because I want to "like" the sacred heart. I have several in my items, but this particular one really strikes me. By the way, I have a goofy sense of humor and at first I closed my eyes and imagined Mary wearing Google Glass.
A very good 'what if' to ponder, that's for sure. I'm not sure if we can escape our destiny. We think we have control over all that is in our life, but then again, we really don't. I love your image!!

Meri, I really resonate with your posts - you seem to be quite a deep thinker and I love how you put that across in a very subtle and sensitive way. Always food for the soul here at Meri's magical place
