Ruby Tuesday: Carousel

I'm strongly attracted to carousels :
the tinny music,
the lights flashing in the mirrors,
the rotation (do they all go counterclockwise?).

I love to see the children make a beeline
for their favorites, only to change their minds.

And of course, I love the imaginative carousel animals.

Love your post, including the music! I am a carousel fan also. A few weeks ago, I photographed the one in the public garden in Boston. It was my second time photographing it since my daughter moved there three years ago. I think I posted one of the old photos to RT as well, once!

Have a great week!

P.S. I haven't heard Hollies with Graham Nash in so long! Great song.

The artistry is stunning, the wild colors and lovely shapes attract us all. An elk? A perfect riding animal, creatures with hooves are a fun way to ride. Or even with paws, that cat looks so satisfied with his capture. Great!

This brings lots of flash-back...
My first carousel tours were without "ups and downs" - and so it should have been for the little girl, too; not even her mothers taken good care prevented a kind of seasick/insecurity late on the trip :(
But I remember just as well my first tour on the big carousel, it was a black horse - the little was a car, where I could take the wheel, you know, just like daddy :-D
...and end of my story, a The Hollies LP with all best numbers stands side-by-side with Melanie and loths of other dear old memories, I too have a single with the number "Stop, stop, stop" ... so I do now

I was thinking of this few days ago. We enjoy watching carousels and kids love to ride with them but like this one sometimes we don't look closely the animals depicted in there. Your shots are awesome, thanks for sharing!
